Handpicked Red Chillies
Handpicked Red Chillies are mild, which makes them usable as a vegetable. They are similar to peppers, but they are not pepperish. Dice and fry a sweet potato skin-on and an onion, a tin of tomatoes and a full bag of chillies (no seeds). Simmer and place on pasta, rice or jacket potato. Yum!

Are Red Chillies Hot?
Yes, red chillies can be hot, but their heat level varies greatly depending on the specific variety. The heat comes from capsaicin, a chemical concentrated in the pith and seeds inside the chilli. Some red chillies, like the Kashmiri, are mild and primarily used for colour, while others, such as the Habanero or Bird’s eye, are extremely hot.
